By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service is keeping a close eye on a tropical wave over the central tropical Atlantic that is producing widespread disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Forecasters note the system has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours, but stress that it currently poses no threat to Belize.
In the meantime, the country’s general outlook remains unsettled. Moisture and instability will bring showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain across Belize through Tuesday and Tuesday night.
For mariners, conditions at sea remain favorable, with waves between 2 to 4 feet and winds out of the east-southeast at 5 to 15 knots.
Tide times today include a low at 11:42 AM, a high at 6:17 PM, and another low at 9:58 PM. Tomorrow morning’s high tide is expected at 4:52 AM. Belizeans will also see sunrise at 5:40 AM and sunset at 5:54 PM today.
The forecast was prepared by forecaster Crystal Rosalez.
