By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service reports that a light and relatively moist easterly airflow will prevail over the country today, bringing mostly sunny skies with a few cloudy spells.
A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected this morning along coastal and offshore areas before moving inland this afternoon. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over southern Belize.
Winds will be easterly at 5–10 knots, and seas will remain slight with waves between 1 and 3 feet. Temperatures will reach highs of 89°F (32°C) along the coast, 95°F (35°C) inland, and 83°F (28°C) in the hills. Overnight lows will drop to 83°F (28°C) on the coast, 74°F (23°C) inland, and 68°F (20°C) in the hills.
Forecasters note that Hurricane Erin, located northeast of Anguilla with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph, poses no threat to Belize at this time.
