By Belize Live News Staff: Seventeen women from across the Cayo District have completed an intensive 50-hour cell phone repair training program held July 7–11 at the Cayo CET. The initiative, backed by the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Investment, Taiwan Technical Mission, and the National Women’s Commission, aims to create self-employment opportunities in a once male-dominated trade.
Participants repaired 75 phones and received starter toolkits to launch their businesses. A special session on sales and professional etiquette was also conducted by BTEC.
This marks the fourth cohort of women trained under the national program—now boasting over 60 female cell phone technicians countrywide.
