By Belize Live News Staff: A house fire in the Lake Independence area sent panic through the neighborhood today, as a raging blaze quickly consumed the home. Thick smoke could be seen from a distance, with flames lighting up the afternoon sky.
Residents described hearing crackling sounds before noticing the flames. “People tried to help, but there was nothing we could do,” said one witness. Firefighters arrived on the scene and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
