By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans should brace for wet and stormy weather later today as a cold front makes its way into the region. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, fair conditions with sunny skies and scattered clouds will dominate the morning hours, with only isolated showers expected. However, as the cold front advances, rain showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop across the country by afternoon and continue into tonight.
Marine conditions are expected to be choppy, with east-northeast winds blowing at 5-10 knots and waves reaching 3 to 5 feet. Mariners and small craft operators are urged to proceed with caution as rough seas and strong gusts may accompany the weather system.
Temperatures will peak at 85°F (29°C) along the coast, 88°F (31°C) inland, and 76°F (24°C) in the hills, with overnight lows falling to 70°F (21°C) along the coast, 66°F (19°C) inland, and 63°F (17°C) in the hills.
Looking ahead, the weather forecast for Tuesday suggests a return to cooler and drier conditions as the cold front settles over Belize, leading to lower temperatures and clearer skies throughout the day and night.
Tidal information includes a high tide at 8:31 AM, a low tide at 12:51 PM, and another high tide at 7:18 PM. The sun will rise at 6:14 AM and set at 5:57 PM, while the moon is expected to set at 2:48 PM and rise again at 4:27 AM tomorrow.
Forecaster Francisca Wellington encourages residents to prepare for changing weather conditions and to remain alert for localized thunderstorms and heavy rainfall as the cold front moves across the country later today.
