By Belize Live News Staff: While most revelers danced their way into the New Year, Alfredo Elieser Casanova, 29, found himself in a different kind of lockdown. Casanova spent the New Year’s festivities in police custody, missing the midnight celebrations, after a routine search at an Orange Walk nightclub led to a startling discovery.
Police found several rounds of ammunition in Casanova’s pocket during the search. When asked to produce a firearm license, he reportedly appeared stunned and unable to comply.
Authorities swiftly arrested Casanova, who was later charged with possession of ammunition without a firearm license.
