By Belize Live News Staff: Police in San Ignacio are investigating the death of Carlos Oscar Luis Lara, a 45-year-old Belizean laborer from Benque Viejo, who was found with multiple chop wounds on Sunday, December 29.
Authorities were alerted around 8:34 a.m. and responded to the Maya Ranch area, where Lara’s motionless body was discovered. The body was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators are treating the case as a homicide, and a post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
