By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect mostly fair weather today but with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in certain regions. A moist easterly airflow is currently influencing conditions, particularly in the south, where showers are expected both this morning and again tonight.
Inland and some central areas might also experience a few scattered thunderstorms later in the afternoon. However, much of the country will enjoy sunny skies with only a few cloudy intervals throughout the day.
Marine conditions will remain calm, with light winds from the east-southeast at speeds of 5 to 15 knots. The sea state is expected to stay at a light chop, with wave heights between 2 and 4 feet. Daytime temperatures will vary across Belize, with coastal areas reaching highs of 89°F (32°C) and dipping to 84°F (29°C) during the night. Inland areas are set to be warmer, with temperatures peaking at 94°F (34°C) and cooling to 75°F (24°C) overnight. In the hills, daytime highs will reach 81°F (27°C), with cooler nighttime lows of 69°F (21°C).
Looking ahead, tomorrow’s forecast indicates continued fair weather, with only isolated showers or thunderstorms likely. By Thursday night, southern Belize may experience a slight increase in shower activity.
For those near the coast, the tide schedule for today shows a high tide at 10:03 AM and a low tide at 4:21 PM. Tonight, a second high tide will occur at 10:10 PM, followed by another low tide at 4:42 AM tomorrow. Belizeans will enjoy a sunrise at 5:41 AM and can look forward to sunset at 5:51 PM. The moon set at 6:07 AM and will rise again at 6:29 PM tonight.
In terms of the broader tropical outlook, no tropical cyclones are expected to develop in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico within the next 48 hours, offering some relief from potential storm activity.
