By Belize Live News Staff: Residents across Belize can expect a mix of clouds and sunshine today, with the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the northern and central regions this morning and inland this afternoon. The southern part of the country may experience some showers tonight.
The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a general forecast indicating a relatively moist and unstable northeasterly airflow affecting the region. This weather pattern is contributing to the development of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Marine conditions remain favorable, with light chop and waves reaching 2-4 feet. Winds are predominantly from the east-northeast, blowing at 5-15 knots.
Temperatures along the coast are expected to reach a high of 90°F (32°C) and a low of 80°F (27°C). Inland areas will experience warmer conditions, with highs near 94°F (34°C) and lows around 74°F (23°C). The hills will be slightly cooler, with highs around 79°F (26°C) and lows near 68°F (20°C).
Meanwhile, all eyes are on a tropical wave located about 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. The National Hurricane Center has indicated a high probability of this system developing into a tropical depression within the next few days.
Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest weather information and take necessary precautions as the tropical wave continues to develop. The outlook for Monday suggests continued isolated showers and thunderstorms, with some development possible over the coast and south late Monday night.
The National Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
