By Belize Live News Staff: Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño held a productive conversation this morning with Mexico’s President H.E. Claudia Sheinbaum, with discussions centered on deepening economic cooperation and regional integration.

Key issues included expanded access for Belizean cattle and coconuts to the Mexican market, the potential extension of the Tren Maya railway into Belize, and collaborative planning on the Zaragoza Bridge, which would link San Pedro to Mexico’s Quintana Roo region.

Other points of discussion included sustained electricity supply, joint security cooperation, and the establishment of stronger bilateral frameworks. Mexico has committed to sending a delegation to Belize for follow-up discussions, with both leaders agreeing to meet in person at an appropriate time.
