By Belize Live News Staff: In a heartfelt message to the Belizean public, Jair Castañeda has expressed profound thanks for the incredible support he and his family have received after last week’s harrowing hijacking incident. Castañeda, who was among the victims of the attack that also involved Captain Howell Grange and Mr. Fitzgerald Brown, has been recovering at home after suffering serious injuries during the violent incident.

The hijacking took place during a routine flight, leaving the nation in shock. Despite enduring physical and emotional trauma, Castañeda is grateful to be recovering in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones. In his message, shared on social media, he thanked everyone for their prayers, messages, and compassion, which have brought comfort to him and his family during this difficult time.

Castañeda reflected on how the incident had rattled the Belizean community, but he took solace in the kindness and solidarity shown by fellow Belizeans. He shared, “It’s been a tough time, but the outpouring of support from our people has been an immense source of strength for me. I am deeply grateful for your prayers and encouragement.”

Adding a personal touch, Castañeda shared a cherished memory from his late father, Julio Castañeda, who often reminded him that “A family that prays together stays together.” He expressed hope that Belizeans would continue to keep Captain Grange and Mr. Brown in their prayers, wishing for their swift recovery.

The Castañeda family remains optimistic, leaning on the support and love of their community as they continue to heal. Castañeda ended his message with a positive reminder: “God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good,” highlighting the power of faith during challenging times.
