By Belize Live News Staff: A 19-year-old delivery worker in Belmopan was left shaken after an armed gunman pointed a weapon at him, threatened his life, and stole $5 in cash and a phone before escaping on a motorcycle.
The robbery occurred on Saturday, March 8, 2025, around 1:50 p.m. while the worker was making deliveries with his coworkers at Cam-Fong Restaurant on Constitution Drive. While seated in a white Hino six-wheel truck, he was reaching for money to buy food when the passenger door suddenly swung open.
A masked man, wearing a black helmet that covered his entire face, pointed a gun at him and said, “No te muevas, si no puedes morir”, which translates to, “Don’t move, or else you will die.” Another suspect, also wearing a helmet that concealed his face, waited nearby on a black motorcycle.
The gunman demanded the sales money, but the victim explained that it was locked in a safe that he could not open. Frustrated, the robber took $5 in cash from his pocket and a cell phone valued at $300 BZD, belonging to one of his coworkers. The two suspects then sped off on the motorcycle before police arrived.
Police processed the scene and recorded statements, but the suspects remain at large. Police are urging the public to provide any information that may assist in identifying the gunmen.
