By Belize Live News Staff: A brazen armed robbery at Reimers Feed Mill in San Ignacio left employees and customers in shock after two masked men stormed the store, held them at gunpoint, and stole cash and valuables.
San Ignacio Police received a report of the robbery on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 12:10 PM, shortly after the incident occurred at the Savannah Area branch of the feed mill. Witnesses reported that at 12:07 PM, while attending to a customer, the cashier saw two men wearing full-face motorcycle helmets and fishermen masks enter the store. Their faces were completely covered, making identification difficult.
The gunmen immediately attacked a male customer, forcing him to the ground, while another female customer was also ordered to lay face-down. Employees and other customers inside the store were held at gunpoint as the suspects demanded cash and valuables.
The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, along with personal items from customers and employees, including a gold chain valued at $1,500, an iPhone 12, a Samsung A15, a wallet with cash and documents, and other belongings.
Security footage confirmed that the two suspects entered the store dressed in dark clothing, with full-face helmets and visors covering their heads completely. One was seen wearing a purple short-sleeved T-shirt and dark blue jeans, while the other was dressed in a blue long-sleeved dry-fit shirt and dark blue jeans.
Following the robbery, police conducted a house search in Georgeville, Cayo District, and detained a suspect pending further investigation. Statements are still being collected as authorities work to track down those responsible.
Investigators are calling on the public to assist with any information that could help locate the suspects. Anyone with details is encouraged to report to the nearest police station.
