Cloudy skies and scattered showers expected across Belize today

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans should prepare for cloudy skies and scattered showers today as moist northeasterly winds bring light rain and isolated showers to different parts of the country. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, northern and central regions are expected to receive the most rainfall, while coastal and southern areas will experience showers tonight.

Marine conditions will be moderate, with northeast winds blowing at 10-15 knots and waves reaching between 3 to 6 feet. Boaters are advised to navigate with caution due to choppy seas, particularly in open waters.

Temperatures will remain mild and comfortable, with daytime highs of 84°F (29°C) along the coast, 86°F (30°C) inland, and 74°F (23°C) in the hills. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 75°F (24°C) along the coast, 70°F (21°C) inland, and 63°F (17°C) in elevated areas.

The weather forecast for Sunday and Sunday night suggests that cloudy conditions will persist, with a few showers expected in northern and central areas during the morning hours. By afternoon, rainfall will decrease and become isolated, allowing for drier weather across most regions.

Today’s tides include a high tide at 7:08 AM, a low tide at 10:11 AM, and another high tide at 4:59 PM. Tomorrow’s low tide will occur at 1:26 AM. The sun will rise at 6:15 AM and set at 5:57 PM, while the moon is expected to set at 12:50 PM today and rise at 2:42 AM tomorrow.

Forecaster Tareek Matthews advises residents to stay prepared for light rain throughout the day but notes that severe weather conditions are not expected. Boaters and coastal residents should be mindful of gusty winds and choppy seas, especially when venturing offshore.
