By Belize Live News Staff: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing has announced short-term road closures along the Philip Goldson Highway, specifically between Buttonwood Bay Boulevard Roundabout and the Rotary Roundabout. These closures will facilitate essential roadworks, including scarifying, assessing, preparing, and compacting the pavement for hot-mix asphalt concrete application.
Both inbound lanes will be closed, affecting the two right-hand lanes on this section of the highway. The intermittent closures are set to begin on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., lasting approximately two weeks. However, these restrictions will only be enforced when necessary for the operation of construction equipment and are subject to weather conditions.
The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused to businesses and motorists but emphasizes the importance of completing the project under favorable conditions. Drivers are advised to use Coney Drive or other alternate routes as directed by traffic personnel.
As roadwork progresses, the Ministry urges all motorists to exercise caution, plan their routes accordingly, and remain vigilant while navigating the area.
