Police arrest two in Cayo for drug possession with intent to supply

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities in the Cayo District have detained two individuals following the discovery of a large quantity of controlled drugs during a police operation.

On Friday, January 31, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., police conducted a search on Alex Hyde, which led to the discovery of 764 grams of cannabis. Officers then proceeded to search Hyde’s residence, where they found his common-law wife, Lesandra Guy. During the search, police uncovered three transparent plastic bags containing 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine.

Further investigations revealed that Alex Hyde’s real identity is Alexander Scott, raising additional concerns about his background and possible criminal affiliations.

Both Hyde (Scott) and Guy were detained pending charges for “Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply to Another.”

Police continue to investigate whether the two were operating as part of a larger drug trafficking network. Authorities are urging community members with any relevant information to report suspicious activities as they work to crack down on illegal drug operations in the region.
