21-year-old man survives Belize City drive-by shooting

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City police are investigating a shooting incident involving 21-year-old Shemar Gillett on New Year’s Day.

According to reports, Gillett was walking on Morter’s Alley, near Cemetery Road, just before 4:30 a.m. when shots were fired from a vehicle stationed at the corner of Gibnut Street.

Gillett sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he was later released after receiving medical care.

Authorities continue their investigation into the incident, but no suspects have been named at this time​.
