Roger Anthony, former Ghost Town gang leader, dies at 45

By Belize Live News Staff:  Roger Anthony, the former leader of the Ghost Town Crips gang from Mayflower Street in Belize City, passed away on Monday at the age of 45. He reportedly succumbed to a longstanding medical condition while receiving care at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

Anthony gained prominence in the early 2000s as a key figure in Belize’s gang landscape, leading the Ghost Town Crips during a time of widespread violence. However, in the 2010s, he became known for his involvement in various gang truce initiatives aimed at reducing crime and promoting peace in the community.

Since 2014, Anthony had reportedly distanced himself from gang activities, opting for a quieter life on Partridge Street, where he was known to reside peacefully. His passing marks the end of a turbulent yet transformative chapter in Belize’s gang history.

Authorities and community members have acknowledged Anthony’s shift away from violence in his later years, recognizing his efforts to contribute to gang rehabilitation initiatives.
