By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans should prepare for a soggy start to the weekend as moist conditions blanket the country, bringing cloudy skies and scattered showers or light rain to most areas. This damp weather pattern is expected to persist throughout Saturday and into Sunday, with some easing anticipated by Sunday night.
Residents along the coast can expect comfortable temperatures with highs reaching 80°F (27°C) and lows of 73°F (23°C). However, the pleasant temperatures will be accompanied by increased humidity and the possibility of showers throughout the day. Beachgoers should be mindful of the potential for sudden downpours and gusty winds.
Inland areas will experience slightly warmer temperatures, peaking at 83°F (28°C) before dipping to a comfortable 68°F (20°C) in the evenings. The hill regions, known for their cooler climate, will see highs of 70°F (21°C) and lows of 60°F (16°C). While these areas might offer some respite from the coastal humidity, showers are still expected.
A small craft caution remains in effect for all of Belize’s coastal waters. Mariners are urged to exercise extreme caution as moderate to rough seas with waves reaching 5-7 feet are anticipated. The northeasterly swells are also expected to generate gusty winds and locally rough conditions, potentially posing challenges for even experienced seafarers. Small craft operators should closely monitor weather updates and consider postponing non-essential voyages until conditions improve.
