By Belize Live News Staff: Starting January 2025, Belizeans traveling to the United Kingdom will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter, regardless of whether they are visiting, transiting, or staying temporarily. This new requirement ends a longstanding arrangement that previously exempted Belizeans from needing a visa to visit the U.K. as a Commonwealth nation.
The British High Commission announced that applications for the ETA, which costs £10 and lasts up to two years, are open from November 27, 2024. The change has stirred conversations about the shifting dynamics between Belize and the U.K., often affectionately referred to as “Mother England.”
