When asked about Trump’s hardline immigration policies, Fonseca acknowledged the concerns of Belizeans living in the U.S., particularly those seeking asylum. “We’ll have to see how his policies unfold,” Fonseca stated, adding that Belize remains hopeful the U.S. will continue to uphold the rule of law and treat immigrants fairly.
