Four charged in the murder of taxi driver Shawn Ortiz Campbell

Police officer and three others remanded for deadly stabbing of taxi driver

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City police have charged four men in connection with the fatal stabbing of 42-year-old taxi driver Shawn Ortiz Campbell. The accused—Kyle Domingo, Gasman Jones, Peter Perez, and Charles Brown—were formally arraigned on a single count of murder.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday on Jaguar Avenue, where Campbell was reportedly involved in a brawl. During the altercation, he sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest. Despite being rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, Campbell was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Campbell, a father of six, leaves behind a grieving family and community. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
