By Belize Live News Staff: Dangriga Police were on high alert last week after a daring escape by 21-year-old Ornell Reyes. The incident occurred on October 31, just before 10:00 a.m., when Reyes allegedly kicked open the back door of the station and fled while being escorted by a police officer.
According to reports, Police Constable Leonel Waight was tasked with escorting five prisoners to Belize Central Prison. During the process, Reyes managed to free himself and escape through an open door. A swift search operation was launched, and police have since confirmed that Reyes was recaptured on Saturday and returned to custody.
