By Belize Live News Staff: In a momentous ceremony held at the Sir Colville Young Parade Square, the Belize Defence Force (BDF) officially welcomed its latest recruits from Intake 67, marking the end of an intensive four-month training program. The recruits, who started their training on June 30, demonstrated resilience, strength, and a commitment to defending Belize.
The BDF ceremony highlighted outstanding achievements within the group, with awards presented to top performers in various categories. Jeffrey Paredes and Naomi Baki were recognized as Champion Recruits, while Keiron Cal and Giselle August were awarded for excelling in physical training. The Champion Shot title went to Nixon Coc, acknowledging his exceptional marksmanship, and Michael Palacio was commended for his exceptional drill skills.
The training program, which emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and technical skills, is designed to prepare recruits for the challenges they will face as soldiers. In addition to physical conditioning, the new soldiers were trained in weapon handling, small unit tactics, and other critical skills.
Reflecting on the journey, BDF officials expressed pride in the recruits’ achievements and optimism for the future. “These young soldiers have embraced the core values of the BDF,” one official noted. “Their dedication and hard work have prepared them to serve Belize with honor and courage.”
With their training complete, the new recruits are set to begin their service in the Belize Defence Force, ready to protect and serve the nation.
