Police investigate burglary report as Alliance for Democracy occupies UDP Office

By Belize Live News Staff: Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, is currently filing a burglary report following events this morning at the United Democratic Party (UDP) headquarters, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams confirmed.

Commissioner Williams stated that police will investigate and, if warranted, bring charges, although the force finds itself caught in the midst of this internal party conflict.

Police officers were dispatched to the UDP headquarters on Youth for the Future Drive soon after members of the Alliance for Democracy entered the building and occupied the first floor. They will remain on-site until the situation is resolved.

The Commissioner noted that, as the UDP is not formally recognized as a legal entity, disputes over its assets ideally belong in a court of law. The police presence aims to prevent further property damage until legal resolutions can be pursued.
