By Belize Live News Staff: Moist and unstable conditions are set to continue across Belize today, with showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms expected, particularly in the northern and central regions. This unsettled weather is due to the lingering effects of Tropical Storm Oscar, which is currently churning just west of Guantanamo, Cuba. While Oscar is moving slowly westward, its outer bands are still influencing Belize’s weather pattern.
Residents can expect cloudy skies with sunny breaks throughout the day, with temperatures reaching a high of 85°F (29°C) along the coast and 88°F (31°C) inland. However, the humidity will make it feel hotter. Tonight, shower activity will decrease across most areas, except for the south.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution as a small craft caution remains in effect due to gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Waves are expected to reach 3-6 feet.
Looking ahead, Tuesday and Tuesday night will see continued cloudy periods with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The south may experience more showers Tuesday morning, while the north could see increased activity in the afternoon. Tuesday night, showers will be concentrated mostly along the coast.
