Police investigate sudden death of 61-year-old man in San Andres Village, Corozal

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities are investigating the sudden death of 61-year-old Mario Blanco, a laborer from San Andres Village, who was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his home early this morning.

According to reports from the police, Blanco’s sister, Angela Blanco, discovered her brother at approximately 6:30 a.m. after hearing the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. Upon checking, she found him lying face-up on the bathroom floor with water dripping on him. She immediately turned off the water and called for assistance.

Police arrived at the scene, conducted a visual inspection, and confirmed that no visible injuries were present on the body. At this time, foul play is not suspected. The family has stated that Mario had no known medical conditions or history of illness.

A doctor who arrived at the scene around 8:18 a.m., pronounced Blanco dead and ordered an autopsy due to the absence of preexisting medical issues.

Authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death as the investigation remains ongoing.
