By Belize Live News Staff: In a terrifying incident early this morning, two families in August Pine Ridge, Orange Walk District were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by three masked men.
According to reports, the armed assailants began their attack around 7:00 a.m. They first targeted a home where they stole $420 in cash. Not content with their first robbery, the men then proceeded to a neighboring home, where they continued their violent spree, assaulting the family members inside and taking $250 in cash.
The victims immediately contacted the police, but, shockingly, authorities did not arrive on the scene until 12:00 p.m., five hours after the initial call for help. During this time, the families were left traumatized and vulnerable.
As of now, the police are investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the robbery to come forward and assist in identifying the perpetrators.
