By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk police have charged a 20 year old man after a search turned up a knife and a pipe believed to be used for smoking drugs.
Christopher Allen Garcia was arrested on Saturday, October 31, after a police officer on patrol spotted him outside a shop across from San Isidro shop on Dunn Street.
Police say the officer searched Garcia and found a silver knife on his waist. Inside a black school bag he was carrying, police found a carved wooden pipe.
Garcia was cautioned for both offences and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station.
There, the knife and pipe were measured, packaged and sealed in his presence. Police say he refused to sign the documents.
Later that day, he was formally charged with possession of an article with blade and possession of a utensil used for the smoking of controlled drugs. He chose to remain silent.
Garcia has since been released on police bail.
