Fireburn Village to get rural water system under BNTF 11

By Belize Live News Staff: Residents of Fireburn Village in Orange Walk are a step closer to a reliable water supply.

The Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) has contracted Young’s Engineering Consultancy Ltd. to design and supervise construction of a rural water system for the village. The project will also introduce improved sanitation and hygiene methods for residents.

The contract was signed on Thursday, October 29, in Belmopan.

At the same signing, BSIF awarded a second contract to the firm for design and construction supervision at Kiddie Kinder Government Preschool in Corozal, where upgrades will improve the learning environment for young children.

Both subprojects are funded under the Basic Needs Trust Fund Eleventh (BNTF 11) Grant Programme, which BSIF implements with the Government of Belize and the Caribbean Development Bank.

BSIF says the programme remains focused on improving the quality of life of all Belizeans through investments in education, water and sanitation.
