By Belize Live News Staff: Belize’s tourism industry is preparing for expanded access to the United States following the launch of BermudAir’s nonstop Fort Lauderdale service on October 26, 2026.
The inaugural flight marks the beginning of an ambitious expansion that will connect Belize with five American airports through new nonstop routes.
According to the Belize Tourism Board, BermudAir plans to introduce four additional services in December, providing travelers from the northeastern and southeastern United States with more convenient options for visiting Belize.
The planned routes include Boston, Massachusetts; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Orlando Sanford, Florida; and St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay, Florida.
The new connections could help Belize attract additional visitors during the winter travel season, when Americans frequently seek warm-weather destinations.
To celebrate the first Fort Lauderdale arrival, BTB organized a cultural welcome featuring the Kriol Culture Heritage Brukdown Band, local treats and refreshments.
Tourism officials and BermudAir executives also participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the launch.
BTB is using the occasion to promote Belize through a familiarization visit involving U.S. media representatives, travel advisors and content creators.
The visiting group will experience Belize’s attractions and tourism offerings before sharing their experiences with audiences in key American markets.
For Belize’s tourism industry, the additional nonstop routes represent opportunities to attract new visitors, strengthen existing travel markets and support businesses that depend on international arrivals.
Travelers can find flight information at BermudAir’s official website.
