By Belize Live News Staff: A routine police patrol along Douglas Road in Orange Walk District resulted in three traffic charges against a 19 year old woman on Friday morning.
Police say officers were conducting mobile patrol around 8:15 a.m. when they stopped a black Meilun motorcycle travelling from San Juan Village toward the Philip Goldson Highway.
The motorcycle was being ridden by Irainy Yoanie Marin, a resident of Douglas Village.
During the inspection, officers requested her driver’s licence, but she was unable to produce one.
Police also reportedly discovered that the motorcycle was not displaying the required insurance disc or motor vehicle licence sticker.
Marin allegedly told officers that the motorcycle did not have valid insurance or a motor vehicle licence.
She was taken to the Trial Farm Police Sub Station, and the motorcycle was impounded.
Police subsequently charged Marin with three offences relating to her driving permit, third party risk insurance and motor vehicle licensing.
She chose to remain silent when cautioned.
