Mother says son sold household items to buy drugs

Arrested

By Belize Live News Staff: For one Trial Farm family, a missing rice cooker and pot are part of a much bigger struggle.

A mother reported to police on Sunday that her son took the kitchen items from their home on San Narciso Street and sold them. According to her report, he admitted he used the money to buy drugs.

The items were worth a total of $129. The mother told police this has happened before.

Officers visited the home and searched around the village, but the son was not found.

Stories like this are a reminder of the toll addiction takes on families. Anyone struggling with substance use, or families seeking help for a loved one, can reach out to the Ministry of Health and Wellness or local support organizations for assistance.

Police are investigating.
