Rio Grande Street lot keeps turning up drugs

Cannabis

By Belize Live News Staff: For the second time in two days, police searching an empty lot on Rio Grande Street in Orange Walk Town have come across a stash of suspected cannabis.

On Sunday night, officers found a yellow plastic bag on the lot holding a green leafy substance. With no one nearby to claim it, the bag was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, where it weighed in at 81.48 grams.

On Saturday morning, police had recovered a smaller bag of 21.64 grams from an empty lot on the same street.

In both cases, no one was found in the area and the drugs were logged as found property.

Police have not said whether the two finds are connected. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Orange Walk Police or Crime Stoppers at 922.
