By Belize Live News Staff: Staines Alley has produced another drug charge, the third from that stretch in as many weeks.
Police on mobile patrol around 8:50pm Monday spotted a man walking out of what officers describe as a well known drug base.
They stopped, approached and told him a search would be conducted for drugs or firearms.
In his right front pocket was a small transparent ziplock bag decorated with a green alien face, holding a powdery substance.
He was shown it, cautioned and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station.
Weighed in his presence, it came to 0.28 grams of suspected cocaine. It was sealed in a labelled envelope, signed by him and a witnessing officer, and handed to the exhibit keeper.
Marco Antonio Guillen, 26, a labourer of Benque Viejo Town in the Cayo District, was charged with possession of controlled drugs.
He chose to remain silent.
The branded packaging keeps showing up in these cases.
