By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize City man was reportedly robbed of $21,000 shortly after withdrawing the money from a bank on Friday afternoon.
The victim, an architect, told police he had gone to Atlantic Bank on Freetown Road to collect money to pay workers.
As he got into his vehicle, an armed man allegedly approached and took a black school bag along with an envelope containing the cash.
Police say both the alleged robber and a second man waiting nearby were dressed in Sadie Vernon High School uniforms.
The pair reportedly tried to escape on a black motorcycle, but the bike failed to start.
They then abandoned it and fled on foot toward Cleghorn Street and Slaughterhouse Road.
Investigators processed the scene, lifted fingerprints and impounded the motorcycle.
One person is being sought for questioning.
The stolen money has not been recovered.
