By Belize Live News Staff: A 40 year old woman in San Jose Village went to ask her nephew a direct question on Saturday morning.
She wanted to know whether he had taken money from her house.
Police say she arrived at a residence in the village around 8am and was standing on the street side out front when he came out. They spoke.
Then, as she turned to leave, she says he punched her twice on the right shoulder.
She went to the Trial Farm Police Sub Station later that morning and made a report. A doctor certified her injuries as harm.
Juan Novelo Jr., 27, a labourer of San Jose Village, was arrested and charged the following evening.
Family disputes over money are common enough. This one ended with a criminal charge.
