By Belize Live News Staff: A collision on Dunn Street on Thursday afternoon turned up more than just damaged vehicles.
Police say a 37 year old vendor was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup from the direction of San Antonio Road toward Cinderella Street around 2pm, following a black motorcycle.
The motorcycle pulled to the extreme right of the road near a store. As the pickup continued on, the cycle moved back into the roadway. The driver braked, the pickup slid, and the left front bumper caught the motorcycle.
The rider went down on the pavement with an abrasion to his back. His injury was later classified as harm.
Here is where it gets complicated for the pickup driver. The vehicle was carrying no licence plates and its licence had expired back in November 2025. He also did not hold the class of licence required for the vehicle.
He was issued a Notice of Intended Prosecution along with a traffic violation ticket.
To his credit, he accepted liability at the scene and says he is willing to settle through insurance.
Is your vehicle properly licensed right now?
