By Belize Live News Staff: July is here, and Belize is starting the month with plenty of sunshine, as warm and mainly fair weather sets the tone for the days ahead.
The National Meteorological Service reports that mostly sunny conditions will lead the way today, with skies turning partly cloudy overnight. Any showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, with just a low chance of a few more over the extreme south tonight.
It will be a hot one to kick off the month, particularly inland, where temperatures are expected to peak at 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before dipping to 74 (23 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills stay more comfortable, topping out at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and falling to 68 (20 Celsius).
Out on the water, easterly winds will blow at 10 to 15 knots, with choppy seas and waves of 3 to 5 feet.
There is reassuring news on the tropical side, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The outlook for Thursday and Thursday night calls for more of the same, with mainly fair and warm weather and only isolated showers or thunderstorms developing.
As for the tides, high tides today fall at 10:21 AM and 11:57 PM, with low tides at 5:55 PM and 4:48 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:21 AM and sets this evening at 6:31 PM. This forecast was prepared by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
