By Belize Live News Staff: Belize’s entrepreneurs and small business owners took centre stage as the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) celebrated World MSME Day, recognising the vital role they play in driving the nation forward.
In a message marking the occasion, DFC paid tribute to the innovators and business owners creating growth and opportunity across the country. The corporation highlighted that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, from long-standing family businesses to up-and-coming startups, are key to strengthening communities, providing jobs, and fuelling national development.
It is a fitting recognition for a sector that touches nearly every part of Belizean life. Small businesses are often the heart of their communities, offering goods, services, and employment while reflecting the creativity and determination of the people behind them. Their continued success is closely tied to the wellbeing of the country as a whole.
DFC also took the opportunity to renew its pledge of support. The corporation said it remains committed to backing the growth and success of MSMEs through accessible financing and development opportunities, with the goal of empowering businesses to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact.
As the world observed World MSME Day, DFC’s message served as both a celebration and an encouragement. For Belize’s many entrepreneurs, it was a moment to be recognised for their hard work and their role in building a stronger, more prosperous nation, together.
