National MSME Roadshow returns with ten stops across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize’s small business owners are set to get a major boost, as the Government rolls out the Third National MSME Roadshow, bringing business support directly to communities across the country.

Officially launched by the Office of the Prime Minister at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, the initiative reaffirms the Government’s commitment to helping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises grow, compete, and thrive. The event drew government officials, business leaders, development partners, and entrepreneurs from across Belize.

In her keynote address, Mrs. Narda Garcia, Chief Executive Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister, Investment and Civil Aviation, spoke to the vital role MSMEs play in creating jobs and strengthening communities, and pledged continued support through access to financing, business services, and a more enabling business environment. The launch also included a timely panel discussion on how businesses can collaborate with AI technology to stay competitive in a digital world.

The Roadshow has come a long way since its start in 2022, engaging more than 2,000 entrepreneurs to date. This year, it will travel to ten stops across all municipalities, including San Pedro and Caye Caulker, so that business owners everywhere can benefit.

At each stop, participants can look forward to a full programme. This includes capacity-building workshops on topics like digital marketing, e-commerce, financial management, sales and negotiation, and export readiness. There will also be Town Hall consultations for direct engagement with government officials, Formalization Clinics where entrepreneurs can register their businesses and access services in one place, and Buy Belizean Expos where they can showcase and sell their products while promoting local enterprise.

Aspiring and established business owners, students, and the public are all invited to participate when the Roadshow reaches their municipality. For anyone looking to start, grow, or formalize a business, it promises practical resources, expert guidance, and valuable connections.
