Tributes paid to tennis stalwart John Longsworth

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has lost a devoted servant of the game, as the local tennis community mourns the passing of John Longsworth, a respected figure both on and off the court.

In announcing his passing, the Belize Tennis Association remembered Longsworth as a dedicated member of the tennis community who played a key role within the association and the Belmopan Tennis Club. He was known for pouring his time and energy into the growth and development of tennis in Belize, leaving a lasting mark on the sport.

Those paying tribute also spoke of a man whose contributions stretched well beyond tennis. Longsworth was described as someone who gave back to the wider community and earned the respect of many through his service and involvement.

The association offered its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him, as they come to terms with the loss.

For the many lives he touched through sport and service, John Longsworth leaves behind a legacy worth celebrating. As Belize remembers him, he will be honoured for his dedication to the game and to his country. Rest in peace, John.
