By Belize Live News Staff: While weather conditions across Belize are expected to gradually improve, marine conditions remain challenging for boaters and fishermen.
The Belize Meteorological Service has issued a Small Craft Caution due to occasionally gusty winds and locally rough seas affecting coastal waters.
Winds from the east-southeast are expected to range between 10 and 20 knots, while wave heights could reach between four and seven feet.
Authorities are advising operators of small vessels to exercise caution, especially in open waters where gusty conditions may develop suddenly.
On land, Belizeans can expect sunny skies mixed with cloudy spells today. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to remain isolated across most areas, although northern districts may experience a few additional showers during the day.
By tonight and early Saturday morning, forecasters predict that a few showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop mainly along coastal communities.
The weekend forecast calls for cloudy skies at times, with outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms most likely along the coast on Saturday morning before activity becomes more isolated later in the day.
As Belize continues recovering from recent heavy rains and flooding in some communities, weather officials are encouraging residents to stay informed and monitor updates as conditions evolve.
