By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has emerged as one of the biggest winners in BermudAir’s latest expansion announcement.
The airline has unveiled plans to add Belize, Turks and Caicos, and Guatemala City to its growing network, with Belize receiving service from five U.S. destinations starting in December.
The new flights will connect Belize with Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Sanford, and St. Petersburg-Clearwater.
For Belize, the move represents more than just additional flights. It provides access to new tourism markets and creates opportunities to attract travelers who may not previously have considered Belize for vacations.
One particularly promising market is Raleigh-Durham, where demand for Caribbean and Central American travel has been growing rapidly. The airline says it will be the only carrier offering nonstop service between that region and Belize.
The expansion also strengthens Belize’s position within the wider regional tourism industry as competition among destinations intensifies.
Industry experts often point to airlift as one of the most important factors influencing tourism growth. More seats generally mean more visitors, more hotel bookings, more tours, and increased spending throughout the economy.
The new services are expected to begin during the busy winter tourism season, providing an additional boost to Belize’s hotels, tour operators, restaurants, transportation providers, and other tourism-related businesses.
With flights going on sale this week, Belize’s tourism industry will be closely watching to see how travelers respond to the new nonstop options.
