By Belize Live News Staff: While Belize continues to enjoy warm temperatures, forecasters are warning that rain and thunderstorm activity will become increasingly common over the next several days.
Today’s forecast calls for a combination of sunshine and cloudy periods, along with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across much of the country. Southern Belize is expected to receive the greatest amount of rainfall.
The outlook becomes even more active by Wednesday.
Meteorologists are predicting showers and thunderstorms around the country tomorrow, especially over inland areas during the day. By Wednesday night, conditions are expected to deteriorate further as periods of rain, showers, and thunderstorms affect mainly coastal and northern communities.
The forecast suggests that Belize could experience one of its wetter periods of the week beginning Wednesday evening.
Despite the rain chances, temperatures remain firmly in summer mode. Inland regions are forecast to climb to 95 degrees Fahrenheit while coastal temperatures hover around 89 degrees.
Marine conditions remain moderate, with waves between 4 and 6 feet and winds ranging from 10 to 20 knots.
Belizeans planning outdoor activities over the next 48 hours may want to keep an eye on the skies and have rain gear close by as forecasters continue to monitor the developing pattern.
