Belizean woman, 80, killed crossing a Houston road

By Belize Live News Staff: The Belizean community at home and abroad is grieving following the death of Virginia Foreman, an eighty-year-old Belizean woman who lost her life this week in a traffic accident in Houston, Texas.

Reports indicate that Foreman was attempting to cross Fondren Road on June 1 when she was struck by a passing vehicle. She was using a walker at the time of the collision.

Authorities say the driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene while emergency services responded.

Houston Police have stated that investigators found no evidence of intoxication or dangerous driving and have not announced any criminal charges. The case remains under review as officers continue gathering information.

Foreman’s death has deeply affected relatives and members of the Belizean diaspora, many of whom remember her as a kind-hearted and beloved woman whose life touched many people.

The tragedy also serves as a reminder of the dangers pedestrians, particularly senior citizens, face while navigating busy roadways.

As her family prepares to lay her to rest, messages of sympathy continue pouring in from Belizeans across the United States and Belize who are mourning her loss and praying for comfort for her loved ones.
