Driver admits fault in early morning highway crash

Driver admits fault in early morning highway crash

By Belize Live News Staff: A traffic accident investigation in Orange Walk has taken an unexpected turn after new details emerged about one of the individuals involved.

The collision occurred on the Phillip Goldson Highway near San Pablo Village when a car driven by 18-year-old Einer Arcurio struck a motorcycle. Arcurio reportedly accepted fault and was cited for careless driving.

However, further investigations revealed that the motorcyclist, Police Corporal Erwin Canul, may not have had proper documentation for the motorcycle he was operating. Officials say the vehicle was reportedly donated to him and had not been updated with the necessary registration, insurance, or licensing.

The discovery has shifted the direction of the investigation, which remains ongoing as police examine the circumstances surrounding both drivers.
