By Belize Live News Staff: A 27-year-old man is recovering from a harrowing ordeal after being allegedly raped in Belmopan’s Las Flores area.
The incident, which occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, has sparked an active police investigation. According to the victim, he was walking with a male companion after leaving a local party when he was suddenly attacked.
The assailant reportedly overpowered the victim, dragging him behind a structure where the sexual assault took place. Police arrived on the scene later that morning to process evidence and take the victim’s statement. No arrests have been made yet, but authorities say they are following strong leads to bring the perpetrator to justice.
