Motorcycle crash near Dollar sign leaves two hospitalized

By Belize Live News Staff: Two men are receiving medical treatment following a motorcycle accident in Punta Gorda Town late Sunday night.

According to police, the incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. on April 19, 2026, along the Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway near the “Dollar Sign” landmark.

Authorities say the driver of a motorcycle traveling north lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree on the side of the road.

Both the driver and his passenger sustained head injuries and were found lying on the highway when police arrived. They were later identified as Brenton Cofius and Carl Manger.

Emergency personnel transported the injured men to the Punta Gorda Hospital, where they remain admitted.

Police say the scene was processed and the motorcycle impounded as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
