Orange Walk police hunt for evidence in Valentine’s Day rape report

By Belize Live News Staff: A 14-year-old girl’s report of being raped on Valentine’s Day has sparked a formal investigation by the Orange Walk Police Formation. The suspect, identified as an 18-year-old male from Trial Farm Village, is accused of violating the minor on two separate occasions earlier this year.

The report was officially filed in March, leading to a clinical evaluation at the Northern Regional Hospital this past Wednesday. Medical professionals have submitted their findings to the police to assist in the ongoing probe.

Investigators are currently working alongside social services to ensure the minor receives necessary support while the legal case is built. The Scenes of Crime unit is expected to visit the site of the alleged assaults shortly to gather further forensic evidence.
